Our philosophy is simple and hasn’t changed since we opened in 1991. Start with the very best produce and do as little to it as we can!
We only serve local, wild and line caught fish and seafood.
Our meat is grass fed and we have a long supportive network of local organic growers and producers featured on our menu.
Fins is a dining destination in regional Australia.
While awards have been appreciated (and we have won every award there is), for us it’s more about our customers.
Many of whom feel like our family as we have seen their happy returning faces for over 34 years.

About Us
Founded by chef Steven Snow in 1991; FINS was originally located in Brunswick Heads, later Byron Bay, a second venue in Portugal and now Kingscliff.
Snowy and his wife Morgan (FINS Creative Director & Sommelier) are internationally known as the ‘hospo dynamic duo’, having consulted and opened dozens of successful restaurants around the world.
Snowy hosts TV cooking shows, has published 2 best seller cookbooks and spent years as a freelance food writer for just about every leading Australian newspaper and magazine.
Florent joined the Fins family in 2013 as a young French Sommelier backpacker, later becoming our business partner. Flo is our ‘front man’ and Manager and his talents are never ending.
Fins has won ‘Chef’s Hats’ consecutively for over 20 years.
We have proudly achieved the ‘Most Sustainable Seafood Restaurant’, in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
Fins is currently awarded ‘Best Seafood Restaurant in Australia’ Seafood Excellence Awards and
‘2 Glasses’ Gourmet Traveler Wine List of the Year
