About Us

Since 1991, Fins has been redefining Australian seafood dining. Founded by chef Steven Snow, the restaurant started in Brunswick Heads, later expanded to Byron Bay, opened a second venue in Portugal, and now calls Kingscliff home.

Snowy and his wife Morgan (Creative Director and Sommelier) are internationally recognised for their culinary vision, having consulted on and opened successful restaurants around the world. Snowy has hosted TV cooking shows, published bestselling cookbooks and contributed to Australia’s leading food publications.

Florent joined Fins in 2013 as a young French sommelier backpacker and is now our business partner and front-of-house leader. His expertise and energy ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.

Over three decades, Fins has earned consecutive Chef’s Hats for more than 20 years and been named the ‘Most Sustainable Seafood Restaurant’ by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. We are proud to hold awards for ‘Best Seafood Restaurant in Australia’ (Seafood Excellence Awards) and ‘2 Glasses’ in the Gourmet Traveler Wine List of the Year.
